At River City Youth, our mission is to create opportunities for youth enrichment in their neighborhoods through community engagement, job training, and education. We envision a diverse community of empowered, skilled, and capable youth working to strengthen their local environment.

This mission comes to life every day through programs like our Bike Bus, seasonal agriculture and barista internships, and our outdoors adventures with Yasuhara Middle School youth. Through these experiences, youth gain confidence, build real-world skills, and form deep connections with their community.

So far this year, we’ve served over 100 unique youth across Spokane’s West Central and North Central neighborhoods.

And behind every number is a story. As one of our agriculture interns, Kasper, shared:
"I was involved in restoring the garden and that taught me that life can be beautiful and good it just takes time, effort, and consistency. The weeds aren’t going to stop coming back, so you will have to keep taking care of the garden so it will stay beautiful. Kind of like the saying I’ve been hearing a lot lately 'if you take care of the garden, it will take care of you' and it did in many ways."
